What is Coaching and when I consider attending coaching session?

What is coaching?

Coaching aims to bring out the best in people in order to help them achieve their desired goals. It concentrates on the present and future.
By exploring our attitudes to events rather than focusing excessively on the events themselves, we can understand ourselves better. It gives us the answer why we react in some of the self- defeating ways.  Our stress or anxiety levels are affected by both our thoughts and behaviours. The benefit of this approach is that we can change the thoughts, feelings and behaviours to feel better even if the situation itself does not change.

When should I consider attending coaching session?

People come to see coaches because they want to achieve certain goals in their work or personal lives. There are certain examples of the situations coach can deal: performance anxiety ( i.e. fear of public speaking), procrastination, fears of failure, poor time management, dealing with problematic emotions (i.e. while giving presentation, inviting someone to the date, meeting important people, being laughed at, etc.) and other issues.

Important to note, that coaching does not offer any quick fixes to achieve personal change or magic to solve your difficulties. Coach creates a safe environment in which people see themselves more clearly. The coach does this by listening, asking focused questions, reflecting back, challenging. In addition, coach clarifies goals and agreed-upon results, identifies gaps between where the client is and where the client needs or wants to be. In any case, Effort and commitment of the individual is needed.
